IT’S NOT FAIR! how to respond when your kid says “it’s not fair”

“It’s NOT fair!”

Oh, the drama! Are you even a parent if you haven’t heard these words spill from your kid’s mouth (especially if there is more than one)? We often respond with something to the effect of “Well, life isn’t fair!” Or, “Jy kry wat jy kry en wees dankbaar daarby!” The problem is, it doesn’t offer our kids the tools or support they need in that moment. Instead, we are going to follow a different (effective) approach.
